October 22, 2010

Another week has flown by.  As usual, it was a wonderful week at The Tree.

November 1-4  has been set aside for parent-teacher conferences.  Teachers have blocked out times before and after school to visit with parents regarding students' academic progress.  Report cards will be discussed as will other relevant data.

Hopefully these conferences will facilitate two-way conversation.  Not only will the teacher share information with you, you can share information with your child's teacher and ask questions to gain more insight into your child's life at Rountree.

As a parent, don't be shy about coming to the conference with a prepared set of questions.  Keep the list short as most conferences only last 20 minutes.  Some questions you may wish to ask are:
1.  What skills will me child be expected to master this year?
2.  What can I do to stay involved in my child's learning?
3.  What is the best way to communicate with the teacher (email, phone calls, notes, other?)

Talk to your child before parent-teacher conferences and ask him/her if there is anything he/she would like for you to bring up with the teacher.

If you have not already done so, you may sign up for a parent-teacher conference by calling the Rountree office at 523-4900.

Have a great weekend!
