If you get a chance, drop by Rountree and take a look at the bulletin board just outside the office. It is covered with pictures of students and a brief description of various ways they have exhibited the different PYP Learner Profile traits. Submissions range from saving a younger child from a possible drowning to a willingness to try a tomato. These forms and descriptions have been sent in by Rountree parents in celebration of their child(ren).
One of the strengths of the Primary Years Programme is the focus on helping students develop into life-long learners, not just memorizers of facts and formulas. PYP stresses equipping students to be ready to live and excel in a global society. Helping students develop the Learner Profile is one goal we have Rountree.
You can download a copy of the parent submission form from the Rountree web page, or send a note to school and we can send a blank copy home with your child. Let's catch 'em being good.
